Use cases Examples

What teams hand to Ensemble.

From a one-line rule change to a module built from nothing. Every example runs the same way: a spec, a change, a test on an isolated copy, and a person's decision.

These are illustrative examples of the kind of work Ensemble takes on, not customer stories.

01 Build something new

Whole modules, from a sentence.

Stock tracking from scratch.

“We need stock per warehouse, with a warning when an item falls below its minimum.”

What happens

Analyst
studies how your other modules keep master data and movements, then specs the tables, screens, approval for adjustments and test scenarios.
Builder
creates the tables, the stock card, movement entry and low-stock list, and the process behind them.
Tester
seeds items and movements on the isolated copy, checks every balance and the warning.

You get

a working module on the copy, ready for your review.

Customer complaint workflow.

“Complaints should be logged once, routed by category and chased if nobody answers in two days.”

What happens

Analyst
maps categories, owners and the reminder rule.
Builder
intake form, routing step, reminder job, status screen.
Tester
files complaints in each category and lets the clock run out on one.

You get

a new process with its screens and rules, tested end to end.

Supplier onboarding.

“New suppliers need a document checklist and two approvals before their first order.”

What happens

Analyst
lists documents, approvers and what blocks an order.
Builder
checklist screen, approval steps, order block.
Tester
tries to order from an incomplete supplier, then completes it.

You get

onboarding that cannot be skipped.

02 Change what exists

Small changes, done properly.

Approval by amount.

“Expense claims above 50,000 should go to the finance director.”

What happens

Analyst
finds similar approval flows, reads the schema, asks the one open question.
Builder
changes the routing and the process diagram only.
Tester
runs four scenarios around the limit.

You get

the change, proven on the copy.

A new field with a rule.

“Tax number must be ten digits and unique per customer.”

What happens

Analyst
checks where customers are created and edited.
Builder
adds the field and the validation to every entry point.
Tester
tries duplicates and wrong lengths.

You get

one rule, enforced everywhere it should be.

The monthly report.

“Finance wants expenses by department every month, as a spreadsheet.”

What happens

Analyst
confirms definitions with you before anything is built.
Builder
writes the query against the right indexes and the export.
Tester
compares totals with the source data.

You get

a report people can trust.

03 Fix and understand

Answers before changes.

A bug from a screen recording.

“Look at this video, the save button does nothing on step 3.”

What happens

Analyst
watches the frame where it fails and finds the step behind it.
Builder
fixes the cause, not the symptom.
Tester
repeats the steps from the video.

You get

a fix with a before-and-after.

“Why is this screen slow?”

“The claims list takes forty seconds to open.”

What happens

Analyst
reads the query, the table sizes and the indexes, read-only.
Builder
rewrites the query to use what is already indexed.
Tester
times it on the copy.

You get

a measured improvement, no guesswork.

Impact before a change.

“What breaks if we rename this column?”

What happens

Analyst
follows the relationship map through code, procedures and screens.
Builder
nothing yet.
Tester
nothing yet.

You get

a list of every place that would need to change, before anyone touches it.
